About me

Tibidabo, Barcelona 2009

Art is something that from an early age has inspired me and my work reflects my own experimentation and attempts to capture personal experiences and striking images. My early inspiration came from immediate family, friends, college teachers and my surrounding environment. I initially worked in textiles and then branched out into painting and mixed media to constantly challenge myself and my perceptions, using different mediums and methods of creation. I am currently working predominantly in oils but I love mixing media and therefore many of my studies incorporate textiles, watercolours, acrylics, inks and artists putty.

Human form is my preferred subject and although I work best when working with live models I also work with images and draw from my imagination. I try to capture expressions, moments and memories which in reality cannot last. I generally create my work directly onto canvas as my inspiration is often spontaneous and fleeting. This inspiration deeply affects my ability to create and spurs me on to constantly push my physical and cultural boundaries and perceptions.

I am passionate about travel and the differences between cultures, landscapes and languages. I have lived in France and Italy and am currently living and working in Spain.
